Where
to start?
Well,
to begin, it was all very uneventful really. You see, this was
my first sale/purchase. Going into it I was a bit nervous but
I had seen enough "real estate t.v." that I was prepared
for the open houses every weekend...the battle of negotiation...the
stress....the waiting....the searching....the heartbreak and the
disappointment that all leads to the happy ending at the end of
the program. What I got was dynamically different.
Our
agent, Fredene Plouffe, posted our place on MLS, which resulted
in a request to see our home immediately within minutes of the
posting. That was on Wednesday. Thursday were 3 more viewings,
Friday evening was competition over our place and later that night
our place was sold for 98% of our asking price!!
Think
that was impressive? How about buying: Fredene Plouffe personally
picked us up in her car and drove us to a mutually agreed upon
top 5 favorite destinations. Now I will admit that my wife and
I had done a year of dreaming and searching for our "perfect
place within our budget", so we knew what we were looking
for and only hoped that it was out there. We spoke to Fredene
at great length about what we were looking for and found it on
the first day!! We put in an offer that night and by the next
morning it was accepted and there you are: done and done, really
not what I had seen on television at all : )
The
greatest part of the whole thing, that made Fredene. As impressive
an agent as I am writing, is that she made sure that my whole
family (me, my wife, and my 5-year old son) were all in agreement
on everything...right down to asking my son if he liked the colours
and the "feel" of the room...with sincerity. She is
a family person and was as important a component to the process
as the business of thw whole thing. Wow!
